Indiana GOP Chairman Eric Holcomb announced last week he will leave the state party to serve as state chief of staff for Sen. Dan Coats, R-Ind.

“Eric Holcomb is a well-respected, results-oriented leader in Indiana, and I am honored to have him join my team,” Coats said in a release.

Holcomb’s last day at the state party will be July 9. Several of his state party lieutenants will also step down in the upcoming weeks.

Holcomb is a longtime political ally of former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, a Republican who left office earlier this year. Hoosier Republicans re-elected Holcomb as chairman in March with Gov. Mike Pence’s blessing.

Those in the running to succeed Holcomb include:

• Former Coats campaign manager Anne Hathaway

• Former state party Executive Director Jennifer Hallowell

• Attorney Robert T. Grand

• Pence campaign manager Kyle Robertson

Easy as ABC

Democratic fundraising firms The Angerholzer Team and Political Development Group announced they will merge to form a new firm, Angerholzer Broz Consulting, next month.

Lindsay Angerholzer and Randy Broz will serve as the new firm’s two partners.

“The merger will build on the experience and expertise of both firms and greatly enhance and diversify the services we provide our clients,” Broz said in a statement.

“It is a clear win-win situation for us and the clients we proudly serve,” Angerholzer added.

The Angerholzer Team’s Heather Fraser Leonard will be the firm’s chief operating officer, while Alden Knowlton will be an assistant vice president. Lawrence Young, formerly of the Political Development Group, will be senior vice president. Both firms will retain all staff, according to a news release.

Googled

Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Digital Director Jason Rosenbaum has told colleagues he will join Google in July.

“Next month, I’ll be joining the Elections and Issue Advocacy team at Google here in DC, where I look forward to working with Democratic campaigns and organizations on their digital efforts,” he wrote in an email obtained by CQ Roll Call. Rosenbaum has worked for the DSCC for four years.

North Dakota Elects GOP Chairman

The North Dakota GOP elected Robert Harms as its new chairman over the weekend. Harms succeeds Stan Stein, who opted against seeking another term.

Harms is an attorney who also served as the state party’s treasurer for four years.

Evan Almighty

Evan Yost joined M Street Insight as a principal last week. Based in Boston, Yost was formerly the deputy communications director for the Romney 2012 presidential campaign.
