The House will be in session Saturday and Sunday, the Majority Leader’s office informed Members on Thursday.
Votes will also be likely after 3 p.m. Friday, later than previously scheduled, according to Laena Fallon, spokeswoman for Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.)
The weekend agenda is expected to include the fiscal 2012 Interior and environment appropriations bill while the House awaits Senate action on legislation to raise the debt limit ahead of Tuesday’s default deadline. The House does not plan to hold votes earlier than 1 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday.
“No other legislative action on the debt limit — other than a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution — is expected in the House,” Fallon wrote in the schedule announcement.
