Tim Walz Tickled About Appearing With T2P2

Staff said Rep. Tim Walz is psyched to reconnect Thursday with one-time aide Tane Danger when he finally hooks up with The Theater for Public Policy.

Danger told HOH that while still in college he briefly interned for the Minnesota Democrat.

Fast forward to today, when the director and co-creator of the now-traveling comedy troupe is living the dream of poking fun at politics — right here in Washington, D.C. — every night this week. A Walz aide said the five-term lawmaker has yet to attend a live T2P2 show, but told HOH he has caught some of the performances online. He’ll have the chance to remedy that particular oversight Thursday when he joins Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., for a joint interview.

“He thinks it will be a good conversation with Rep. Emmer about some of the work they are doing together — like veterans — and how Congress should function,” Team Walz predicted.

Walz, we’re told, is pleased to see how far Danger has come.

“He’s proud of Tane for creating a fun way for folks to engage in and learn about their communities and our democracy,” Walz spokeswoman Sara Severs relayed via email.

As for any pre-show jitters, Walz, it would seem, feels imminently qualified to tangle with trained professionals.

“He says being in Congress is like having a front row seat to the best improv show on Earth,” Severs shared.

Tickets to the congressional-double billing start at $15 (advance purchase).
