The award for most efficient fundraising this year will probably go to House candidate Debbie Dingell, who in 32 days spent less than $12,000 and raised over a half million dollars.  

Debbie Dingell,  D-Mich., is running in Michigan’s 12th congressional district to succeed her husband, Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., who is retiring. Rep. Dingell has served in Congress since December 1955.  

The Debbie Dingell in Congress committee reported  receipts of $529,807 and disbursements of $11,543 from February 28th through March 31st., leaving $518,263 cash on hand as of March 31st.  

Of the $421,698 from individual contributions, all but $23,781 was raised from contributions of $200 or more. Itemized donors showed $186,838 came from Michigan, and $176,479 came from DC/MD/VA.  

The donors are a mix of Washington and Michigan social and political players, including Madeleine Albright, Robert Altman, Mitch Bainwol, James Blanchard, David Bradley, Nancy Brinker, Buffy Cafritz, Lynda Carter Altman, John Castellani, Meryl Chertoff, Nancy Dorn, Beth Dozoretz, Cynthia Ford, Edsel Ford, Martin Franks, Eddie Fritts, Al & Tipper Gore, Jamie Gorelick, Carol Jankowsky, Thomas Jolly, Kathleen Matthews, Thomas and Donna McLarty, Wendy Paulson, Catherine and Wayne Reynolds, Donna Shalala, Earl Silbert, A Alfred Taubman, among many others.  

The committee raised 108,108 from PACs and other committees. For example, Rep. John Dingell’s Wolverine PAC gave $10,000. The Ford Motor Company Civic Action Fund gave $5,000.
