Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., has unveiled a raft of senior staff appointments, including Bipartisan Policy Center veteran Ashley Berrang as communications director.

“This extremely talented group is committed to serving West Virginians and taking on the challenges facing our state,” Capito said in a release. “The wealth of knowledge and experience each member of this team brings to the table will serve West Virginia well.” Berrang will join Capito’s staff in February and has worked at BPC for more than six years.

Capito brings a couple of folks with her from her time in the House, including her chief of staff Joel Brubaker, who has been in that post since 2005.

Adam Tomlinson will be her legislative director. He, too, held that position with Capito in the House.

Amy Graham will be the deputy communications director. Her experience includes working for Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign, and Florida Govs. Rick Scott and Jeb Bush.

Jan Brunner will join Capito’s team as senior policy adviser. She previously served as senior counsel for fossil energy on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and as senior energy adviser to Sen. Joe Manchin III, D-W.Va.

Other hires include, J.T. Jezierski and Victoria Weaver as legislative assistants, Mary Elisabeth Eckerson as state director, and Aaron Sporck, who has worked for Capito for 14 years, as director of economic development.

Lauren Russell will be the director of scheduling and Jim Durrett will be the director of operations.
