It’s not just any Friday, it’s National Carrot Cake Day. This has been a long week and everyone deserves some cake.

Ocean Prime is marking the day by donating $1 to the nonprofit No Kid Hungry for every slice of their Ten Layer Carrot Cake purchased during lunch, happy hour and dinner.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and House Speaker Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., have been spotted in recent weeks at the D.C. branch, located at 1341 G St. NW.

Restaurant Week

Sunday is the last day of Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week, so check out the available $22 lunch and $35 dinner options at various locations in the DMV. Capitol Hill spots participating in restaurant week are Acqua Al 2, the Monocle and Bistro Bis, among others.

Reminder: Metro madness

Service on the Metro’s Orange, Blue and Silver lines will be affected by a major track work project planned for Saturday and Sunday. Free shuttle buses will replace all trains between Foggy Bottom and Eastern Market and six stations will be closed: Farragut West, McPherson Square, Federal Triangle, Smithsonian, Federal Center SW and Capitol South.

Also, lower-level platforms will close at Metro Center, which will only be open for the Red Line, and L’Enfant Plaza, which will be open for the Yellow and Green lines.
