Speaker Paul D. Ryan, R-Wis., is not going for hometown spirit in his bracket this year, but instead is trying to win. He tweeted about Roll Call's March Madness bracket that he has chosen GOP Rep. Mike Bishop's Michigan State to win the tournament.
He has GOP Rep. Reid Ribble's University of Wisconsin-Green Bay making it past the first round and Democratic Rep. Mark Pocan's University of Wisconsin going to the Elite Eight. In a video explaining his bracketology, he says he is a Big Ten fan.
Last year, former Speaker John A. Boehner, R-Ohio, filled out his Roll Call bracket. He had the University of Kansas, who's hot again this year and represented by GOP Rep. Lynn Jenkins, going all the way.
The bracket is complete. Looking forward to a great #MarchMadness. pic.twitter.com/dpKcObbfpT — John Boehner (@SpeakerBoehner) March 18, 2015Democratic Rep. G.K. Butterfield's Duke University won in 2015. So let's see if Ryan does better than Boehner. And -- it's not to late to fill out your picks.
