Former Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., has some words to say about the press Monday morning.
A Dec. 31 Chicago Tribune article reported that Rep. Darin LaHood, R-Ill., has redecorated Schock’s old office, which became infamous for its "Downtown Abbey" décor. A fellow Tribune reporter tweeted the story out on Jan. 2 and Schock just responded.
The #truth is, when LaHood won Schock's vacant seat on Sept. 10, the Rayburn office walls he inherited were already repainted beige; the office makeover was documented by Heard on the Hill on Sept. 11 .
On Sept. 17 , his father, former Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Ill., confirmed the office had been repainted, “It’s eggshell white, very dull. Very dull.”
Schock might have been returning to work in Washington this week if it wasn’t for reporting on some of his spending irregularities, a series of events put in put into motion by a Washington Post story about his Downton-inspired office.
