John Lewis Closes Out ‘March’ Trilogy

Final installment of Georgia congressman's graphic novel due out this summer

The illustrated history of the civil rights movement that Rep. John Lewis has shared with the world is coming to its dramatic conclusion.

With the release of “March: Book Three,” which is scheduled for release Aug. 2, the Georgia Democrat and advocate of non-violent activism completes his journey into graphic storytelling.

He set out on this path after much prodding by congressional aide cum “March” co-author Andrew Aydin — a comic book enthusiast fascinated by freedom of expression and the fight for equality.

The forthcoming title focuses on the battle to extend voting rights in the Jim Crow South, culminating in a brutal clash in Selma, Alabama.

Charleston Immersive and Interactive Media optioned “March” for possible development into a TV series earlier this year.
