Sen. Jerry Moran borrowed a page from a fellow Kansan Thursday to celebrate the Republican takeover of the Senate.

The outgoing National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman brought a decorated cake for the enjoyment of his fellow senators to the Republican Conference lunch in the Lyndon B. Johnson room. "Under New Management" the cake blared in frosting, along with an exterior photo of the Capitol Dome.

Moran told reporters the idea for the cake was borrowed from none other than former Majority Leader Bob Dole, celebrating an earlier GOP takeover of the chamber's majority. There's a photo of Dole with the original "Under New Management" cake in Moran's office.

Moran's office also passed along a photo of the cake inside the LBJ room, featuring the outgoing NRSC chairman and Sen. Mitch McConnell. The Kentuckian won the unanimous approval of the Republican Conference to be the next majority leader earlier Thursday.
