What to do in D.C. the week of July 15-21

It’s Brew at the Zoo on Thursday, but you’ll have to choose between that and Sheryl Crow. (CQ Roll Call file photo)

Anyone for tennis?

The Washington Kastles kick off their season this week with matches against the Las Vegas Rollers, San Diego Aviators and Orange County Breakers. The team opens Monday in their brand-new venue at the top of Union Market. Special guests this season include Frances Tiafoe (July 15-17) and Venus Williams (July 25-26).

The sound of spending

It’s Amazon Prime Day … or rather “days.” Burn a few extra holes in your pocket on Monday and Tuesday, because #deals and #whynot?

Get off the bench

It’s National Youth Sports Week. Hill staffers, stop by the Rayburn House Office Building foyer on Tuesday at 11 a.m. to try out some “physical activity sports stations” and be reminded once again why you never made the varsity team.

Lions, tigers… IPAs

Sample more than 70 craft beers (if you like a challenge) at the National Zoo on Thursday. The Smithsonian hosts its annual Brew at the Zoo, which raises money for its conservation efforts. Don’t worry if craft beers aren’t your thing: Pabst will be available in the VIP area.

If it makes you happy

For everyone who’s ever found themselves in a karaoke bar at 1 a.m. singing a duet of “Picture,” there’s Thursday night at Wolf Trap. Listen to the smooth country-rock stylings of Sheryl Crow, who’ll preview her upcoming album “Threads,” scheduled for release Aug. 30. Tickets start at $45.
