Ernst, Graham and McSally Join Congressional Softball Game

Members taken on media's Bad News Babes team for charity on June 15

This year's Congressional Women’s Softball Game  will feature three new faces: Iowa Republican Sen. Joni Ernst, Florida Democratic Rep. Gwen Graham and Arizona GOP Rep. Martha McSally.   

Members play a team made up of media members in the eighth annual game on June 15.  

The new additions round out the 21-player member’s team, joining returners such as Sens. Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz., D-Fla., among others.  

The media team, known as the Bad News Babes, has three rookies joining the 19-player squad: Roll Call reporter Bridget Bowman, Politico’s Elena Schneider and Sarah Wire of the Los Angeles Times.  

[Scouting Report From the Congressional Baseball Game Coaches] The event will benefit the Young Survival Coalition, which raises funds and awareness for young women with breast cancer. Tickets are currently on sale for $10 . The game is played at the Watkins Recreation Center, 420 12th St. SE.
