In a nail-biting World Series Game 7 on Wednesday, the Chicago Cubs beat the Cleveland Indians, 8-7, and Illinois Sens. Mark S. Kirk and Richard J. Durbinare due some beer.

The friendly wagers on the series, which were made along party lines, had beer on the table. Both bets will most likely be repaid after Congress returns after the election.

Illinois’ Kirk taunted Ohio Republican Sen. Rob Portman over their bet and looked forward to the payoff. Portman wagered that if the Cubs won, he owed Kirk a case of Great Lakes Oktoberfest beer from Cleveland's Great Lakes Brewing Company.

Durbin was still celebrating the win this morning.

Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown bet Durbin that if the Cubs won, he would bring beer from Cleveland's Platform Brewing Company to Durbin.
