Team 'Good Wife' Readies Hill-Centered 'BrainDead'

How’s this for a conspiracy theory: Congress ain’t just broke. It’s been overrun by mindless pols. OK, OK, so that’s the perma-banner affixed to most news sites these days. Still, TV execs Robert and Michelle King, co-creators of “The Good Wife,” are planning to flesh out the nightmare that is modern politics via their forthcoming project, “BrainDead.” The veteran producers envision a 13-episode series — the plot, per a release, revolves around a newly minted legislative aide who quickly discovers “1. The government has stopped working, and 2. Alien spawn have come to earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of Congressmen and Hill staffers.” — which should be ready for public consumption next summer. “We wanted to do a show that was a mix of genre-pulp and high-brow politics — ‘The Strain’ crossed with ‘The West Wing,’” the Kings said in an official statement. “It seemed like the best way to address the news today — not straight, but as the opening act of a horror movie.” HOH has seen such films. It never ends well for those whose gray matter gets absorbed/invaded/compromised. No word on who'll round out the cast or when (if?) there'll be any casting calls in D.C. for Hill-y looking extras.
