The Republican National Committee on Wednesday announced its team of regional political directors for the 2012 cycle.
The new team consists of four former state party executive directors: Chris Carr, Western region; Jessica Ennis, Southeastern; John Gibson, Northeastern; and Mark Jefferson, Midwestern.
Carr also served as western regional political director in 2010 for the National Republican Congressional Committee, and in 2008 he was national field director at the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Carr is also a former executive director of the Nevada GOP.
Ennis has been at the RNC since the 2006 cycle. She served in the same position last cycle, was deputy political director in 2008 and southern regional finance director in 2006. She is also a former finance director and executive director at the North Carolina GOP.
This is Gibson's second stint as an RNC regional political director. Before working for digital media firm Targeted Victory last cycle, Gibson was the RNC's mid-Atlantic political director. He is also a former executive director of the Maryland GOP and campaign manager for former Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.).
Jefferson served as the Wisconsin GOP's executive director for four years, and worked under then-state party chairman and now-RNC Chairman Reince Priebus.
"This team of RPDs has decades of experience running state parties, managing statewide campaigns and overseeing successful turnout operations across the country," RNC Political Director Rick Wiley said. "The goal we have laid out is clear, make Barack Obama a one-term president. We are building the most effective and efficient voter turnout program the RNC has ever put in the field and Chris, John, Mark and Jessica are seasoned political professionals ready to lead our efforts in the states."
