Pfeiffer to Succeed Dunn as White House Communications Director

Deputy White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer will succeed Communications Director Anita Dunn at the end of November, a White House official confirmed Tuesday.
Pfeiffer is a longtime Capitol Hill aide, having worked for Sens. Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) and Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) as well as former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.). He served in a number of posts in President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, including as communications director.
Dunn reportedly planned since taking the job at the beginning of the Obama administration to leave by the end of the year. But her departure by the end of November will put a new communications chief in place before the health care reform debate wraps up — which will happen in December at the earliest.
