Hoyer Adds Days to November Work Schedule

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) revised the November floor schedule Tuesday to allow for more time to work on health care reform legislation.
Per Hoyer’s changes, the House will now be in session for the entire week of Nov. 2 and possibly the first weekend of November. The House is also scheduled to be in session for the entire week of Nov. 16.
Hoyer also marked several days for Members to reserve in case they need to be available to vote on passage of a health care bill. Those days are Nov. 9, Nov. 10, Nov. 23 and Nov. 24.
“The House will meet beyond the targeted adjournment date as we continue to advance health insurance reform legislation and other matters. As is often the case when we come to the end of a session, the voting schedule is subject to change as the House and Senate work together to complete action on legislation, as well as to accommodate committee work and provide time for Members to review major legislation before voting,” Hoyer said in a statement.
