It’s a recessionista’s dream: a week of free eating on Capitol Hill. And it isn’t just your standard cheese cubes on toothpicks — the week’s complimentary menu includes fried turkey, deep-fried bull testicles and veggie dogs served by models clad in lettuce leaves.

Members and staffers can gobble up gratis fried turkey and other “turkey appetizers” along with beer and wine at the National Turkey Federation’s “Turkey and More” reception Tuesday evening. The event starts at 6 p.m. at 1300 Longworth House Office building (although the RSVP date was July 8).

And if meat’s not your thing — or you simply want to ogle scantily clad ladies — People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is hosting its annual free veggie dog lunch on Wednesday, where models (including Playboy’s Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole) dole out cruelty-free dogs. That’s at noon at the main entrance of the Rayburn House Office Building.

The free food continues when the Western Business Roundtable dishes out “Rocky Mountain oysters,” aka “cowboy caviar,” aka bull cojones at its “Taste of the West” event at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in rooms 338 and 339 of the Rayburn House Office Building. RSVP online.
