Time magazine released its annual 40 Under 40 list of rising political stars Thursday morning, and several babyfaced Members of Congress made the exclusive list.
Sen. Carte Goodwin (D-W.Va.) and Reps. Tom Perriello (D-Va.), Stephanie Herseth Sandlin (D-S.D.), Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.) and Jared Polis (D-Colo.) made the cut. Others on the list with interesting Hill connections: Hannah Pingree, Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives and daughter to Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine); Sarah Huckabee, daughter of former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee who is now running the Senate campaign for Rep. John Boozman (R-Ark.); Nathan Daschle, executive director of the Democratic Governors Association and son of former Sen. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.); and Huma Abedin, deputy chief of staff to Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and wife of Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) she tells the magazine that her go-to blog is Anthonyweiner.com.
In interviews with Time, the Members on the list reveal a few interesting tidbits about themselves. Nunes says that if he wasnt working in politics, he would be making wine and cheese, while McHenry says he would be in real estate investing, perhaps teaching a college course, or maybe even a full-time NASCAR fan. Goodwin says in his interview that hes a fan of Bill Simmons, better known as ESPNs Sports Guy.
Time is set to fete those named to the list Thursday evening at the Donovan House.
