“I look forward to earning the individual support of the grassroots conservatives who make up the heart and soul of this organization that has done so much to promote freedom and pro-growth fiscal policies,” Hasner said in a statement.
Hasner already has the backing of conservative blogger Erick Erickson, radio hosts Mark Levin and Monica Crowley, and former Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell (R), and the endorsements bolster his efforts to portray himself as the grass-roots conservative candidate in the race.
He faces former Sen. George LeMieux, former Ruth’s Chris Steak House CEO Craig Miller and retired Army Col. Mike McCalister in the GOP primary.
Terri Henderson, 6, center, whose mother is El Salvador, attends a rally with members of Congress at Union Station's Columbus Circle to announce the Restore Opportunity, Strengthen, and Improve the Economy (ROSIE) Act on July 29, 2014. The legislation provides incentives for government contractors to pay a living wage and other benefits that would help low-income workers.
