Rep. Fred Upton (speaking) will co-chair the NRCCs annual March fundraising dinner
National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions named on Tuesday the three GOP Members who will chair the NRCC’s annual March fundraising dinner.
Foreign Affairs Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (Fla.), Education and Workforce Chairman John Kline (Minn.), and Energy and Commerce Chairman Fred Upton (Mich.) have been tapped to chair the March 30 dinner at the National Building Museum. Upton also served as a co-chairman last year.
“Ileana, John and Fred are strong advocates for the Republican agenda and understand firsthand how to sell the fight for congressional election victories,” Sessions said in a statement. “Their leadership with the NRCC March Dinner will give House Republicans the resources to stay on offense and build on our success in 2012. I’m grateful for their hard work to fund our mission for a lasting and productive Republican Majority.”
The three briefed Members on fundraising goals Tuesday during a conference meeting at the Capitol Hill Club. The annual dinner is a fundraising boon for the NRCC; last year’s event raised $7 million.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will serve as the keynote speaker.
