Former Rep. James Oberstar (D-Minn.) might not have any plans to return to government, but he admits he’s having to deal with losing some of the perks that went along with his nearly four decades in Congress.
Oberstar spoke to a group of media and local leaders in Duluth, Minn., on Monday to fill them in on his post-Congress plans, including a gig at the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. But Oberstar said he’s having a hard time keeping up with speech and interview requests because he has no paid staff to help him.
He’s also learning how to use an iPad his kids gave him for Christmas — perhaps that will help him sort through all those calls and e-mails.
