A man wounded in the Arizona shooting was accused of making threats and was arrested Saturday, following a town hall meeting about the tragedy taped for ABC’s “This Week,” the Associated Press reported.
James Eric Fuller, 63, took a photo of Tucson, Ariz., Tea Party leader Trent Humphries while saying, “You’re dead,” during the town hall, Pima County sheriff’s spokesman Jason Ogan said.
Victims, witnesses, emergency responders and others involved in the rescue gathered to discuss the tragedy during the town hall, which was filmed in Tucson. The forum will be televised Sunday morning.
Fuller was arrested on misdemeanor disorderly conduct and threat charges and was taken for a psychiatric evaluation.
Humphries’ suggestion that conversations about gun control should be postponed until all the dead have been buried apparently upset Fuller, KGUN-TV in Tucson reported.
Fuller was shot in the knee and back during the Jan. 8 attack in Tucson, which killed six people. Thirteen people, including Fuller and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), were injured.
Following the speeches from elected officials, the crowd stands at long tables as they dig into BBQ, brunswick stew, cadillac rice at the Law Enforcement Cookout at Wayne Dasher's pond house in Glennville, Ga., on Thursday, April 17, 2014.
