DeFazio Opts Out of Oregon Senate Race

In a blow to Democrats, Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-Ore.) announced this afternoon that he would seek re-election in 2008 rather than challenge Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Ore.), who remains a top Democratic target.
