McConnell, Cornyn Tout Border Crisis Measure

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and Minority Whip John Cornyn, R-Texas, defended a proposed fix to a 2008 trafficking law on Tuesday, which is backed by Cornyn and Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas.

"I think there's a lot of misunderstanding -- this is not a criminal trial in the context of the OJ Simpson case, this is rather straightforward and simple petition for benefits under the immigration law," Cornyn said, later adding he would not support a "blank check" for the administration. "This problem is growing and a backlash associated with it is growing too."
