ActBlue Receipts Jump In March

A Democratic fundraising committee had a big jump in receipts during March, enabling it to funnel almost $17 million to candidates and committees.  

ActBlue , a fundraising operation that primarily receives earmarked contributions for specific candidates, reported  receipts of $15,451,490 and disbursements of $17,030,874 during March, leaving $8,591,996 cash on hand. March was the biggest fundraising period since the 2012 pre-election period. During February 2014, the committee had receipts of $8.6 million.  

Contributors in California gave $2.6 million; New York $1.6 million; Virginia $995K; Massachusetts 834K; Florida $826K; Texas $717K; Illinois $611K; D.C. $515K; among others.  

ActBlue moved $16.6 million to candidates and political committees, including $3.5 million to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC); $1.8 million to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC); $673K to the campaign of Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va.; $584K to the campaign of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H.; $479K to the campaign of Alison Lundergan Grimes, D-Ky.; $381K to the campaign of Mark Udall, D-Colo.; $334K to the campaign of Sen. John Walsh, D-Mont.; and $276K to the campaign of Alex Sink, D-Fla.; among others.
