Sigh. Do we really need to point out the incongruity?
For those who may not know, King is pretty preoccupied with security leaks.
He recently retweeted a New York Times story about how concerned he is with the access Hollywood filmmakers have to classified information. He became a bit agitated over how much information director Kathryn Bigelow, whose film “The Hurt Locker” won a Best Picture Oscar a couple of years back, had for her upcoming film on the hunt for Osama bin Laden.
The Pentagon is now investigating its relationship with the entertainment industry, and the CIA is reviewing its entertainment industry guidelines.
The Department of Homeland Security, which King’s committee oversees, took the radical step of posting the Times’ story on its own website.
So it is that much weirder that our man King tweeted that he was receiving a top-secret briefing on Iran, kind of in the middle of a foreign policy snafu between the United States and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz.
King’s Twitter feed is pretty much all about homeland security issues and his media appearances to discuss homeland security issues.
