Less than a week after former Rep. Mark Neumann (R-Wis.) picked up endorsements for his Senate primary bid from two Republican Senators, former Gov. Tommy Thompson responded with four GOP Senate endorsements of his own.
The Thompson campaign touted new endorsements from Sens. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), John Hoeven (N.D.), Mike Johanns (Neb.) and James Risch (Idaho). Last week, the Neumann campaign announced the support of Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.) and Tom Coburn (Okla.).
Lois Lerner, director of exempt organizations for the IRS, arrives for a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on the investigation of the IRS' targeting of political groups. Lerner invoked her Fifth Amendment right to not testify and caused a protest from some committee members when she offered an opening statement and engaged in dialogue with members before invoking the right.
