Larry Kissell (D-N.C.), one of the most politically vulnerable Members seeking re-election, former Hill aide Richard Hudson announced he had raised more than $100,000 in his first month as a candidate.
Hudson, who served as a chief of staff on the Hill and district director for former Rep. Robin Hayes (R-N.C.), has strong support among the GOP establishment in Raleigh and in Washington, D.C.
In the Republican primary, Hudson faces four opponents, including some who have the ability to self-finance. Kissell, a former social studies teacher, raised $169,000 in the third quarter.
