After a long day of work, who wouldn’t want to hang with the boss and his dirty laundry?
About 11 p.m. Wednesday, at least one staffer from the office of Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R) found himself at a laundromat in Northeast Washington, D.C., with the Congressman. Just hanging out. Washing some clothes.
Apparently, Bring-Your-Staff-to-the-Laundromat Night is a bit of a tradition in the Bilirakis office.
Late nights at the office, coupled with a lack of a washer and dryer in Bilirakis’ District home, leads the Florida lawmaker and his band of merry staffers to multitask some evenings.
“Hey, the clothes have to get washed,” Bilirakis tells HOH. “And I’m just like everyone else out there who has a busy schedule, squeezing in a quick trip to the laundromat when I can.”
To be clear: His staff does not wash his clothes for him. He can do that himself, thanks much. HOH has also learned he rarely takes his dirty laundry back home to Florida to share with the wife and family.
