Every Tuesday, HOH gets to know a Member of Congress better through a series of five fun questions. This week was easy — Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) is a movie buff, Internet entrepreneur, venture capitalist and social media enthusiast.
Q: What’s the next big thing in social media or technology? A: I wish I knew! I think bitcoins and online currency, distributed DNS, and crowd-funding are pretty cool.
Q: Who are the best tweeters on the Hill? A: Taegan Goddard’s Political Wire, @pwire, and Chad Pergram, @chadpergram.
Q: Who would you like to see tweet more? A: Tweeting isn’t for everyone, only for those who can find their authentic online voice. Nothing is worse than posting press releases and boring stuff online.
Q: Colorado brewer New Belgium just expanded to the East Coast. What other Colorado brewers and distillers are folks out here missing out on? A: There are dozens; come to Boulder and try them!
Q: Favorite movie? A: I’m a major Trekkie.
Correction: Sept. 21, 2011
An earlier version of the article misstated one of the technologies that Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) said had caught his attention. It should have been distributed DNS.
