JDA Frontline hired Ann Marie Hauser as vice president of public affairs in its Washington, D.C., office.
Hauser most recently served as communications director for the presidential campaign of former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R). Before that, the Texas A&M graduate worked in media relations at JPMorgan Chase.
Hauser's other campaign experience includes stints as a regional press secretary at the Republican National Committee in the 2006 cycle and as Iowa communications director for President George W. Bush's 2004 re-election campaign.
In D.C., Hauser has served as communications director for Sen. Mike Johanns (R-Neb.), director of public affairs at the Department of Commerce and spokeswoman for international affairs at the Department of Treasury.
"Ann Marie's résumé of experience on high-pressure campaigns, working in the private sector and in the fast-paced policy debates on Capitol Hill are valuable assets that will be crucial to servicing our firm's portfolio of clients at the highest level," JDA Frontline President Jim Dyke said in a statement Monday.
Getting Trippi in SoCal
California Assemblywoman Julia Brownley, the latest entrant to the new Ventura County-based 26th district, has begun building her campaign consulting team.
Brownley entered the race this month, shortly after Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett, once the Democratic favorite for this swing district, unexpectedly exited the race.
Brownley's campaign is being managed by Lenny Young, who had been working for Bennett. Steve Barkan of SG&A Campaigns is serving as general consultant, and Ben Tulchin of San Francisco-based Tulchin Research is her pollster.
Fellow Democratic candidate David Cruz Thayne recently hired Joe Trippi as media consultant. Thayne's campaign team also includes chief strategist Garry South, campaign manager Alex Thompson, pollster John Fairbank of FM3 and fundraiser Tricia Riffenburgh.
Trippi worked nearby last year on the 36th district special election campaign of now-Rep. Janice Hahn (D).
Move On and Prosper
Jen Harrington has joined the Prosper Group, a GOP consulting and online strategy firm, where she'll provide strategic guidance to domestic and international campaigns at the firm's D.C. offices.
Harrington worked in Wisconsin last year during the recall elections, managing the campaign of state Sen. Dan Kapanke (R). Harrington, who was vice president at Nevada-based J3 Strategies, has held senior positions over the past few election cycles on campaigns for offices from city council to Senate, as well as on ballot initiatives and issue advocacy campaigns. She worked on former Sen. John Ensign's 2006 re-election and former Rep. Jon Porter's 2004 re-election.
Harrington also served as White House associate director of political affairs under President George W. Bush and in international policy with the Department of Homeland Security.
Purple in Chicago
Public affairs firm Purple Strategies is expanding to Chicago and hired Chris Mather to lead the new office, the Chicago Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet first reported.
Mather is a former spokeswoman to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, communications director to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and press secretary for Jill Biden during the 2008 campaign.
Mather joins C.R. Wooters as the most recent hires at Purple Strategies, a 1-year-old bipartisan firm based in Alexandria, Va., that was launched by Steve McMahon, Alex Castellanos and Bruce Haynes.

Holly McGovern Barber was named director of community outreach and special events for the Republican National Convention.
