Temperatures might still be chilly, but that isn’t stopping the Direct Selling Association from hosting an ice cream social this week on Capitol Hill.
Consider it a sign that warm weather is around the corner.
The trade association, which represents companies that manufacture and distribute goods and services sold directly to consumers, will be handing out ice cream from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday. The event is part of the group’s lobbying efforts and will be held in Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2172.
While the Senate has long hosted the International Dairy Foods Association’s annual ice cream party each June, the House lags in the frozen-treat department.
“The ice cream social is a big deal in the Senate, and I am happy that the House might have some, too,” a tipster tells HOH, adding, “If I don’t get my sprinkles, I’m going to hurt somebody.”
