Gillibrand Has $615,000 in Cash on Hand

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.) had $615,000 in the bank at the end of the year to prepare for her 2012 re-election bid.

Gillibrand, first appointed when Hillary Rodham Clinton became President Barack Obama’s secretary of State, won a special election last fall to serve the remainder of Clinton’s term. The Democrat will face voters again for a full six-year term. Her Federal Election Commission report showed Gillibrand raised just $6,000 from Nov. 23 through the end of December.
