Senators are part of the “most exclusive club,” but a handful of them seem more proud to have earned another rare honor.
Sens. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) and Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) revealed in a joint press release Monday that when Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) joined the chamber, he also became the 11th Senator who had achieved Eagle Scout status.
Forget legislating. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.
“Only about 2 percent of those who join the Boy Scouts are able to make it to the rank of Eagle Scout,” the release notes. “Leaders of all kinds around the country are Eagle Scouts,” the release adds.
