Heard on the Hill: Bro-ing Out Bipartisan Style
Two Members of the House were spotted getting a jump-start on political civility this week.
An HOH spy saw political opposites Reps. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) and Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) chatting shortly after Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia addressed the Tea Party Caucus on Monday night.
Talk about an odd couple.
“Even a broken clock is right twice a day, so certainly, every now and then there will be things that even Jerry and I agree on,” Gohmert says.
We hear the pair spoke for at least 15 minutes, though it is unclear what they were discussing.
While the duo may appear to be mismatched, they are able to put their differences aside from time to time.
“Rep. Nadler said that he and Rep. Gohmert agree that people who disagree don’t have to be disagreeable,” Nadler Communications Director Ilan Kayatsky tells HOH.
