Just around the corner, the International Spy Museum is collecting unwrapped toys and games for children as well as toiletries, hats, gloves and scarves for the homeless for the DC Jewish Community Center’s Dec. 24 Day of Service. Museum Director of Retail Jodi Zeppelin said it’s the museum’s seventh year participating in the drive. Donations benefit more than 30 organizations.
“We love to actively support the greater D.C. community and make sure that those who may not otherwise have the means to have a happy holiday season, that we can do what we can to ensure that that happens,” Zeppelin said.
Visitors get their first look at the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, which opened to the public on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014. The new memorial is located off Independence Ave. SW between the Rayburn House Office Building and HHS. Buy photo here.
