Every Tuesday, HOH gets to know a Member of Congress better through a series of five fun questions. This week, we chat with Rep. Colleen Hanabusa. The Hawaii Democrat’s favorite vacation location and drink won’t shock you at all.
Q: What’s your favorite vacation spot?
A: Hawaii, of course! Dorothy said it best — there’s no place like home. Especially when home happens to be one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone tonight (aside from your family), who would it be and why?
A: I would have dinner with our good friends, [U.S.] Ambassador [to Afghanistan] Karl Eikenberry and his wife, Ching. Talking about their two years in Afghanistan would definitely make for a memorable evening.
Q: What’s your favorite drink?
A: Kona coffee.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: “Blade Runner.” I also enjoyed “Avatar.”
Q: Who is your best friend in Congress?
A: The Noble Nine (the self-given name of the nine freshman House Democrats). We are a tight-knit group.
