Michigan : McCotter Challenger Says She’s Moving Up List

Fundraising consultant Natalie Mosher told supporters she is “very close to making” the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Red to Blue” program, which highlights Democratic challengers running strong campaigns in GOP-held seats.

Mosher is challenging Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R) in 2010.

“Democratic Party insiders tell me I’m very close to making the coveted” list of Congressional challengers, Mosher wrote in an e-mail to supporters on the heels of a trip to Washington, D.C.

However, the decision isn’t forthcoming.

“Decisions concerning the DCCC’s Red to Blue program will not be made for some time,” DCCC spokeswoman Gabby Adler said.

The DCCC indicated early in the 2010 cycle that it planned to target McCotter, who won re-election last year with 51 percent of the vote. Mosher, however, is the only candidate to announce a campaign so far, and House Democratic aides insist they are still in talks with other potential challengers.
