Lula Young, the wife of Rep. Don Young (R-Alaska), died Sunday of natural causes. She was 67.

Lula Young died at the couple’s home in Great Falls, Va., according to a release from the Member’s office. The couple had been married for 46 years.

“Lu was my everything, and I am heartbroken,” the Alaska lawmaker said in a statement. “This has come as a shock to all of us.”

Memorial services had not been confirmed as of Monday night. In lieu of flowers, the Young family asked that donations be made to the Lu Young Fund for Children of Families Fighting Cancer at 4141 Ambassador Drive, Anchorage, AK, 99508, or the Doyon Foundation at 1 Doyon Place, Suite 300, Fairbanks, AK, 99701.
