Nation: NRSC Effort Targets Young K Street Donors

The National Republican Senatorial Committee is launching a new program, dubbed “The Network,” to reach out to younger donors on K Street.
The program will kick off with an event tonight on the rooftop of the Newseum at Sixth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest. Headlining the event will be NRSC Chairman John Cornyn (Texas) and NRSC Network Chairman Bob Corker (Tenn.).
The Network is co-chaired by Jennifer Swenson of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and Mat Lapinski of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal.
“The Network program is designed to provide multiple opportunities for the younger business community to meet with Republican Senators and voice their concerns over government regulations, and help seek new ways to promote growth,” according to the invitation to tonight’s event.
Young professionals who participate in the program give a $75 monthly contribution, and in return they are given access to several NRSC events and other benefits.
“Reaching out and working to energize young Republican supporters both in D.C. and across the country is a top priority for Chairman Cornyn this election cycle,” committee spokesman Brian Walsh said. “This new program is one part of that effort and it will allow the NRSC to build on the solid fundraising start that the Committee has had this year.”
