Rep. Paul Hodes (D) is getting an assist with fundraising for his Senate campaign from Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
Reid will be the special guest at a June 3 event for Hodes, who is the only announced candidate Democrat or Republican for retiring Sen. Judd Greggs (R) seat.
The event, which is being hosted by Patrick Murphy of mCapitol Management, is scheduled for June 3, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by Roll Call. Tickets for the event start at $5,000 per political action committee and $2,400 per individual, with decreasing levels of financial support.
Hodes raised eyebrows last quarter when he only raised $265,000 one of the smallest amounts of any Democratic Senate candidate in the country. But now that the primary field is clear, Hodes aides expect his fundraising to improve in the second quarter.
Whats more, there are no announced Republican candidates in the race yet. Several local Republicans, including Republican National Committeeman Sean Mahoney and 1996 GOP gubernatorial nominee Ovide Lamontagne, are actively looking at a bid, but they have yet to make an announcement.

The article incorrectly stated that Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Pa.) is hosting the fundraiser for Rep. Paul Hodes (D-N.H.) with special guest Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). The senior vice president of mCapitol Management, Patrick Murphy, is scheduled to host the fundraiser.
