Call for Résumés Brings New Faces to Hill

In November 2008, change, to use a campaign cliché, was coming to Washington. Whether Barack Obama or John McCain won the election, the nation was going to see a new administration, new Members of Congress and fresh faces at government agencies. The Congressional TriCaucus Staff Association wanted to make sure that some of those faces represented a more accurate reflection of the country’s multicultural population than had been seen in the past.

Schumer Advocates for Many on Panel

As Senate Majority Leader, Lyndon Johnson once said of the Joint Economic Committee, “It’s as useless as tits on a bull.” But as that panel’s chairman during the 110th Congress, Sen.
