‘Guitar-Twanging’ McCotter to Play Backup for GOP

In many ways, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) isn’t the most likely candidate for leadership. He is a reluctant fundraiser, happily sits on second-tier committees, harbors no great personal ambitions and loathes sound bites, talking points and the general state of political debate in Washington, D.C.

Rep. Colleen Hanabusa finds it impractical to take the long flight home to Hawaii every weekend. So every month or so, she gets a little taste of the islands by hosting a Hawaiian-themed meal at her Capitol Hill home. During the last week of March, Hanabusa allowed Roll Call photographer Tom Williams to capture the feast.
