As he presses ahead with his under-the-radar bid for Minority Whip, Sen. Trent Lott (R-Miss.) has enlisted roughly 10 Senators representing a cross section of the Republican Conference to help press his case in what appears to be a nail-biter contest for the No. 2 GOP leadership slot.
