Helen Sewell’s domain behind the House GOP Cloakroom snack bar was probably no larger than 10 square feet, but in the eyes of the pages, Members and presidents who ate there and adored her, she was a queen. As the red neon sign indicates, the space was — and still is, according to former colleagues — “Café Helen.”
