“And next up in the Parade of Nations at the this Winter Olympiad, we have the team from the District of Columbia.”
Excuse me?
That’s right — those could very well be words you hear on a television broadcast of the Opening Ceremony in future Games (though not the one kicking off Friday). Washington, D.C., may someday soon be in the market for its very own Olympic team, if Mike Panetta has his way.
