Menendez Set to Join Senate

New Jersey Gov.-elect Jon Corzine (D) is expected to formally tap Rep. Bob Menendez as his successor in the U.S. Senate, most likely on Thursday but perhaps as late as Friday — a move that will make the House’s third-ranking Democrat the first Hispanic ever to hold a statewide office in the Garden State.
