Five years after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, our borders remain vulnerable to entry by terrorists and criminals. Our Border Patrol is understaffed, overworked, poorly equipped and in harm’s way every day. Large swathes of our border remain unguarded. Major deficiencies exist in border intelligence sharing while interior enforcement against immigrants who have entered our country illegally has been anything but tough.
